The Story Behind the Playing Games Collection — Pool Ball Rings & Game Piece Jewelry

There's a pool ball ring sitting in my studio right now. Slice of a real vintage ball, set in fine silver, the number still visible, a little worn at the edges. Every time I look at it I think: that belonged to something. A game. A bar. A night someone won big or lost everything on the last shot.

That's the whole idea behind the Playing Games collection.

It started the way most things at Foxlark do — I found something I couldn't put down. Vintage pool balls, old playing cards, dice with a little age on them. Objects that had lived a life before I got to them. And instead of leaving them in a flea market bin or a junk drawer, I started setting them in fine silver and turning them into jewelry.

What's in the collection

The Playing Games collection includes:

• Pool ball Jewelry — real vintage billiard balls sliced open, the color and number preserved, set in fine silver. No two are the same because no two balls are the same.

Why I make this kind of jewelry

I'm drawn to objects that carry history. A pool ball that's been played with, a card that's been shuffled a thousand times — there's something in that. Something that feels more alive than a stone that came out of a factory.

Fine silver lets me honor that. I can set almost anything in it without covering it up, without changing what it is. The object stays itself. It just gets to be worn now.
